Diversity Makes a Difference in Advertising

Brands across the globe are being challenged for more inclusive representation in their advertising, as consumers want to see the diversity of their communities better depicted in all mediums. Facebook took the lead in this study showing that diversity in advertising makes a significant difference in brand loyalty, brand perception, and brand engagement. In one simulation, results saw a 90% lift in brand recall when participants were shown online ads featuring characters they felt were more similar to themselves.
